Coffee painting for beginners

My favorite budget-friendly watercolor paper is Canson XL Series. Brew a strong cup of coffee using coffee grounds or dissolve instant coffee in water. The concentration of coffee will determine the darkness of your paint.
For the darkest shade, I put more instant coffee in and less for the lighter color. Pour water into the containers to create your paint. Stir until well mixed. For lighter shades, dilute the coffee with more water. I only created two shades but you can create as many as you want! You can experiment with different brush strokes, blending techniques, and dilution levels to get comfortable with the medium.
Sketch your design lightly on paper if you wish to create a guideline for your painting.
Master coffee painting in
This exercise is fun to just experiment with on paper with no plan, but do whatever you are comfortable with! Dip your paintbrush into the coffee and start applying it to your paper. In my painting, I did a light wash on the background before starting the details of the painting.
