He was born in , and he memorized the whole Quran at the age of 12 years old only. Sheikh Salah Al Hashem began memorizing the Quran from an early age. He read the Koran with several methods and he obtained an assignment connected to the prophet peace and prayer be upon him. And according to him; this is what helped him to excel in the Tajweed of the Holy Quran.

He later on took the leading imamat in numerous different Mosques; most notably the Grand Mosque in Kuwait during the period from to Assalamu'alaikum Jazakallaahu khairan katsira to sharing this nice recitation.
